Funding
The junior research group “Active Mobility for the Promotion of Health and Environmental Protection” (AMBER) is a joint project between Freie Universität Berlin and the Institute for Ecological Economy Research. The project is being funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) with around 2.2 million euros as part of the funding measure “Junior Research Groups "Climate, Environment and Health”. As part of the project,two habilitations and three dissertations are being prepared, which enables the researchers of the junior research group to further develop their scientific qualifications.

With the program Junior Research Groups "Climate, Environment and Health”, the BMBF is funding research projects on the effects of climate and environmental change on health. The goal is to better understand the complex effects of climate change on humans. The innovative ideas of young researchers in the junior research groups are intended to contribute to the development of effective preventive measures.
The DLR Project Management Agency of the German Aerospace Center (“Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt e. V.”) is responsible for the project management on behalf of the BMBF.
